To easily link all my information together, to create an easy to navigate and understand website for teenage mothers to communicate with eachother, buy or sell items
    • what medium will you use - traditional webpage / Web 2.0 / a combination?
I have decided to use mainly Web 2.0, however i may end up with some traditional webpages as well depending on the design and purpose of all the pages
    • level of consistency you require (ie. Colour schemes, backgrounds, fonts, page layouts, etc)
Each section of the web page may have its own colour scheme, but everything will flow nicely together and match the main color/background very well, as for the layout i intend for most of it to be the same, however some may be tweeked a small amount to accomidate the purpose of the page.
    • target audience(s) for the site - do you want the site professional, academic, fun, retro, earthy
The audience i'm targeting is teenage mothers or mothers to be throughout the community, therefore i intend the website to be fun, yet full of helpful information.
    site navigation methods
    & graphics (logos,
    ...
    photo requirements)
these two i have put thogether, because i want to try things as i create the website, thereofre i dont want to limit myself to using certain types when they may not work for what i need. I plan to try different ways of navigating as well as logos, buttons and photos, but i do not wish to limit myself to certain types or numbers when i do not yet know exactly what i'll need.

    • other considerations?

    1. Pick a Product or Service
I would like to make a website aimed for teenage mothers in mainly this community; including a place for them to talk with eachother, ask advice, tell stories, set up play dates or walking dates as well as sell used or unused items between one another (baby clothes, toys, maternity clothes, swings, crib bedding, blankets and so on)
    2. Decide on Payment Methods
I do not want to limit the methods of payment, as not everyone has the same prefrence to the way in which to pay for a product online; therefore i would like to offer multipul methods as well as informed information on each.
Paypal - www.paypal.com - a safe efficiant easy way to send and receive money online, does not release any of your secure information to anyone or any business.* Recomended ***
Cash - can send through the mail or personaly deliver, you do not have to pay a service charge, recomended for intown selling only as it is not overly safe to send money through the mail.
Cheques - must be approved by the bank before you receive your product, which can take up to 2 weeks, not recomended
Mastercard - easy way to send money online, however you must enter your card information
    Visa - same as mastercard
Moneris Solutions - similar to paypal
    3. Decide on Shipping Methods and Costs
Much like Payment methods i do not want to limit the way in which we ship our products, therefore i will present many options as well as informed information for each
personal delivery - easiest for intown deliveries, personal bringing your item to the buyer, or they come to you to collect it, it is free and easy, however only if you live whithen the same town
canada post- Regular parcels ship locally within 2-3 days, max parcel 10cmx7cm and 1mm high
    Purolator - Fairly expensive
    4. Decide on how you would like to setup your website
    A) Find an eCommerce site that sells your proposed product (or a product similar) and review their setup
    B) Answer the following questions:
    1. What makes a good e-business web site?
The site is easy to navigate around, uses easy to understand yet still sophisticated language, has many links to relating pages and information, all connects with one main topic, has a spot for FAQ's, has sections on the site for different catagories of interest and people(eg. students, parents, media etc.) very organized
    2. What makes a bad web site?
Difficult to understand, hard to navigate, links are not seperated from regular text, everything is jumbled together and unorganized.
    3. Keeping your answers to question 1 and 2 above in mind, answer the following questions for your website:
    a) For your eCommerce website, what is/are the:
    • goals of the site
    To easily link
    • what medium will you use - traditional webpage / Web 2.0 / a combination?
    • level of consistency you require (ie. Colour schemes, backgrounds, fonts, page layouts, etc)
    • target audience(s) for the site - do you want the site professional, academic, fun, retro, earthy
